There is so little going on inside of a Stylophone, that it is easier to just rip the guts out and keep the keyboard and stylus, then add your own oscillator. Some of the Stylophones are so small, though, you better make those boards really small. Eventually, this was one of the things I wanted to hack up. It's on my list. (A long list....)

You can get a DIY Stylophone kit from Dick Smith Electronics in Australia. The instructions are in the book Funway 2, not Funway 1 like it says on the website. You can't see it in the pic, but the PCB has pads like the Stylophone.DIY Stylophone
