Ohenji Pikachu mkII

Kaseo sent me a great video demo of how powerful and fun a pitch bend can be, even on the most simple toys. This Pikachu mod consists of touch contacts and a pitch knob. Sometimes it is hard to find a potentiometer that is of a high enough value to create a super stretched out crawl. However touch contacts can be used to achieve a complete break as well. Enjoy.

Thanks. That raelly put a smile on my face this morning. I wish there was more hours in the day for Blogging. Ok, now back to my office job, making excel data reports. :-(

if you're having trouble getting a sufficiently high pot, you can put a high value resistor in series with the pot (to create an offset) or in parallel (to create a faux high value pot albeit with log properties).

I just featured Kaseo and his Ohenji Pikachu in the quarterly toy/art magazine
    "Hi-Fructose" (hifructose.com).

I write an article called "ToyBend" about the afterlife of electronic toys.

You can find the magazine thru Tower and other outlets listed at HiFructose.com, but get 'em quick! All of issue two is sold out, only available thru some retailers. There may be some of issue one available still.

Awesome, thanks for letting me know about the magazine and the Kaseo mention. We don't have Tower where I live so I may not get the mag. However it would be very nice of you to send me a free copy. Let me know by dropping a line to my email addy. Cheers. --CM
