This just in...

The very cheap switches from Hong Kong Super Seller have just received an upgrade. My latest batch arrived the other day and as you can see in the photos, the solder terminals of the right switch contain red resin substance the base. My guess is that this will prevent the certain degree of melting found in the previous models of switches ( on the left ). In my experience wires had to be soldered carefuly and everything was fine, but this is a welcome improvement at no extra cost to us! Great...

I've ruined a couple of those switches, with the red resin, while soldering.

My guess is it's a cost saving measure in manufacturing.

Or maybe,I just don't know how to solder.

    man, buy switchcraft surplus!
why give the reds more ammo when they invade the LA basin?

I totaly agree with you. Surplus and old-new stock is awesome and quality can't be beat. It does take some digging around but its everywhere. And by the way they have plenty of Ammo already from all the Wal-Mart shoppers across the globe.
But look at it this way, eBay is a US company that is getting a cut from the sale, so they can be the ones holding the front lines in LA when the day comes. Buying cheap parts in relatively small quantities is not going to curb what is inevitable. Something else to consider is that most of the toys people modify were made in China, so there. We're making something that they made better.

Would be best to invest in a nice temperature adjustable soldering station. That way you an adjust it for the component.
