Handmade Electronic Music: The Art of Hardware Hacking, looks be very interesting as this
content index suggests. With topics that include: turning a radio into a body contact synth, cheap oscillators with Hex Schmitt Triggers, alternative video projectors, eavesdropping on electromagnetic music, using oscillators as clocks for toys, reading credit cards with tapeheads, etc. It is like
Nicolas Collins took all the latest topics discussed on benders forum and DIY blogs and turned them onto a book. Nic will be making an appearance at the
Bent Festival 2006 later this month. So don't hesitate to pre-order this book, I slate it to be a winner. I hope the height is same as the
Circuit Bending book by Ghazala so they look even on the bookshelf.

This book is definitely a winner. I am a current student of Nic's at the School of the Art Institute of Chicago. He teaches a summer course there that uses this book as the text.
Highly recommended!!!

Yes, I read through the history on his site, " In search of a perfect bleep" and it seems like he has been involved in this field for a very long time. I bet its pretty sweet to be studing this stuff at school. Please tell Nic to check out GetLofi and send in any projects that you guys are working on. Cheers.

And ask him when the book is coming out!

Well I think the students all have the book already, except in a DIY format. The official publish date says March 2006. I remember Ghazala's book taking longer to get out as well.

I'm really looking forward to this book. Although Reeds book was amazing(just buy it), I had learned a good portion of what it taught from websites and experimentation. I almost caught it a little late in my learning curve, but this book looks like its right where I'd like it to be learning curve wise. seems to have some more advanced topics. I can't wait!!!!

Amazon says that it has shipped several of the ordered books. And mine clains to be delivered on April 27 through May 4. Who ever gets their book first, will get a cookie for being special.

Got it! But not through Amazon... it's taller than the Ghazala book (but thinner).

Amazon is reporting 3 shipped orders for GetLofi visitors, so hang tight and dont go canceling you order, because I will not get your 5 cent referal.
