Reuseum,

great idea! there is a place called SCRAP in San Francisco different idea but similiar. oh and another topic......I hear in SF artists can have residencies with a space near the city dump to make art from items found in the dump. BTW, maybe perhaps check government donations with a geiger counter.....cheers.

ick- drool on the keyboard...

We need a good one of these up in the Seattle area. (or is there one I don't know about?)
About the closest thing I've found is RE PC store downtown. But its mostly computers, and only a little odds and ends.

Hey thank you so much for digging up our little store out of nowhere. We have been fostering our own little DIY community and I have been a fan of GetLoFi since the solder fumes hit my nostrils. Thanks again... and we'd love to throw a show.

This reminds me of a concept I had while I was going to school at UIUC, before I ever even thought about circuit-bending. It was essentially a place where people could come donate their busted/unwanted/etc. electronics. It would be run on a volunteer basis, where students/hobbyists would spend time breaking down electronics for re-use or recycling in exchange for free access to parts, tools, storage and education. I still have a flash presentation of this idea on my computer, if you'd be interested in posting it for poops and giggles.
