Singing Bird Bolt Bay Keyboard

singing bird circuit bent boltbaysinging bird bolt bayplexi glass boltbay

This hanging wall piece started of as a Kids Musican Fun keyboard and morphed into a nasty glitch monster thanks to J-Prater. It boasts a heavy duty bolt bay to trigger notes instead of keys. Apparently this circuit works with only pure touch contacts to produce the sounds. The center piece of this construction is a blinding headlamp composed of high power LEDs to blind the performer and trigger a hypnotic trance. Pitch knobs have been added to the internal musical circuit as well as an auxilary singing bird sound device. The real beauty is in the detail, so feel free to click on the images and see for yourself.

micro synthfuzz distortion diyvero board template

While browsing around the DIYguitarist forums looking for more info on a particular PT2399 Delay IC, I came across this link to a HUGE DIY Stompboxes gallery with schematics and build pictures. One can spend days leaching all the good distortion and classic effect schematics from this place. Make sure to save your favorites locally cause its not uncommon for this info to disappear after a while. Huge thanks to Aron Nelson for hosting this gallery. Enjoy.

circuit bent little likes

Little Tikes’ Guitar/keyboard toys are not hard to come by and when bent they seem to emit an awfully lot of noise as seen in this YouTube video. I like the video because it is not just someone flipping switches and hitting keys, well kind of, but there is some dialog between the two people in the room about the newly circuit bent creation. Bitrot, the creator of this devastating device is planning a solo album using just this toy. Looking forward to that.

rx17 rehousedrehoused circuit bent rx-17yamaha rx-17 drum machine

This recased Yamaha RX-17 was quickly sold on eBay. The case appears to be painted wood or possibly grey plastic. Etherway cutting out the holes for the buttons must’ve been a pain in the neck. Bends are tiggered via a salvaged keypad, which would mean that for bends to be active the keys have to be pressed.

This lounge style Streetmachine Alligatron circuit Bent SK-1 comes via Joerg who runs a Casiobend forum, which dispite being located in Germany is actually all written in English. Joerg is also nice enough to post many shots that were taken in the process of building this device along with advice and even a schematic of the bends, which I believe was taken from the R.Q. Ghazala book. Very nice build expecially for the first project, keep up the good work.
